CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The Confluence Member’s Art Gallery is operated seasonally in the Yukon School of Visual Arts. It is a volunteer-run project that always welcomes new volunteers and submissions.
Over the past 5 summers a committee of volunteers has coordinated a series of themed group exhibits representing a broad range of local artists. Proposals are now being accepted for solo, group or curated shows for the 2012 season. Selected exhibitors will be responsible for all aspects of their show (hanging, lighting, opening receptions, gallery-sitting, takedown and clean up, etc.) KIAC staff will assist with promotion and will provide basic hanging supplies and direction as needed.
Exhibitors are responsible for ensuring the gallery is open during advertised hours by recruiting volunteer gallery sitters or by opening the gallery themselves. Selected exhibitors must be, or become, members of the Dawson City Arts Society (DCAS). Yearly memberships are $15 for individuals / $25 for families.
2012 Exhibition Schedule
Regular Gallery Hours: Thursday - Sunday, 3 - 7pm
Prep and hanging: Tuesday and Wednesday pre exhibition
Tear down and clean up: Sunday and Monday post exhibition
Opening Receptions: First Thursday or Friday of exhibition
Exhibition Slots:
May 25 - June 17
June 21 - July 15
July 19 - August 12
August 16 - September 7th (Reserved for Member’s Group Exhibit)

When submitting an exhibition proposal, please include name, phone, email and preferred exhibition slot along with the following:
Attach a brief description of your project (no more than 1 page)
Including:
- name(s) of artist(s) whose work will be exhibited
- medium(s)
- approximate number of artworks
- theme / curatorial statement (if applicable)
- how work will be prepared for exhibition (ie framed, matted, on plinths etc)
Please provide 3 – 5 images:
JPEGs and digital applications can be emailed to programs@kiac.ca. Please scale digital images to 150 dpi - no more than 600 pixels high or wide. Images and applications can also be dropped off at KIAC (2nd & Princess) or mailed to:
