2013 Themes:

Week 1, June 11-13:
Colour Craze
This week involves the colour wheel and how different colours/shades are produced. We will be heading outdoors and focusing on using the colours we find in our environment to create Dawson-centric masterpieces!

Week 2, June 18-20:
Light & Dark
In celebration of the summer solstice and the midnight sun! Using photography, painting and sketching we will be looking at how both light and shadow are important in artistic creation.

Week 3, June 25-27:

Art You Can Feel
Mediums which are very tactile and hands-on will be explored. Weaving, felting, sculpting and many more 3D activities will be the focus of this week.

Week 4, July 2-4:
Art in Nature
This week is about making the ordinary EXTRAordinary! Taking natural elements and the mediums that surround us, we will be creating art inspired by the outdoor world.

Week 5, July 9-11:
Performance Art
We will be exploring many kinds of unconventional art this week! Exploring radio production, puppetry, theatre and costuming - this week is about finding your inner performer!

Week 6, July 16-18:

Word & Sound
Learn all about the magic of word and sound this week at art camp! Looking at literature, poetry, journalism and music, we will be creating, playing and writing our way into art history! A special first-time visit to the Klondike Sun will teach us the wonders of the newspaper world!
