Potential intensive painting workshop this fall

Workshop: Abstract Painting with Cold Wax and Oils, Level 1
Instructor: Ontario-based artist Janice Steeves


Description: Explore the softly impasto medium of cold wax and discover how to create layered, expressive surfaces using various tools and techniques in this lively 5-day workshop.  Playful experimentation is emphasized with attention to the fundamental principles of art. There will be digital slide presentations and group discussions about art and process combined with lots of individual attention to help develop each student's painting vocabulary and personal direction.
*intermediate to advanced level, participants should have some painting experience.

Date & Time: Sept 1-6, 9:30am to 4:30pm
*Sept 4 will be a day trip up the Dempster to sketch, take photos and be inspired. Participants would be required to organize their own transportation.


$425 *dependent on funding

Kid's Workshop Series:

In this workshop, participants will learn how to transform original ideas into multiple images by exploring many different printmaking techniques and practices, including found objects, cardboard collographs, relief and monotype. The workshop will conclude with a class exhibit and celebration!

grades 2-4 and 5-7
