 KIAC offers and supports local community arts education through outreach programs, courses, and workshops that are developed and implemented to meet the broad range of community interests.

Yukon Riverside Arts Festival Workshops

Yukon Riverside Arts Festival Workshops, August 16 & 17:

  • All workshops will be held in the Gallery at Yukon SOVA, at 3rd Ave and Queen St (unless otherwise noted)
  • Pre-register at KIAC during business hours, 9-5pm daily, or at KIAC's Art Fair table (Friday, Aug 15 only)
  • First come, first served if space is still available on day of workshop
  • Payment is due at time of registration to reserve your spot
  • Due to limited space in each workshop, late arrival may result in the loss of your spot

Sign up for this workshop with beading expert Dolores Scheffen and learn how to bead basic designs.

Knitting and crochet lessons will be offered for participants to learn or build upon their fibre skills, gain an appreciation for the fibre arts and learn about and participate in the international craft movement, yarn bombing.

In this workshop you will learn the basics of watercolour painting from start to finish. All participants will take home their own matted 8x10 finished painting!

~Shelley MacDonald: Silver & Gemstone Jewellery~

Join instructor Shelley MacDonald for a hands-on workshop designed to introduce participants to beginner Silversmithing.

During the workshop you will also be introduced to basic jewellery design. Working with sterling silver and gemstones, this workshop will enable you to design and create your own unique piece of jewellery in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. To start, you will be guided through the basic principles of jewellery making, including soldering, filing and constructing.

Need to unwind/let loose/be inspired/let your creativity roam free? Come check out our drop-in Life Drawing, every Monday from 7-9 PM in the KIAC Ballroom!
